Blogmas preparations are well under way! (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, see my last post titled 12 Original Blogmas Post Ideas.) My Christmas sweater has made its official appearance over on Instagram and my Pinterest boards are filling up with DIY Christmas crafts. My Spotify library has been taken over by Christmas playlists and my Netflix account has become dedicated to watching Christmas movies. Over the weekend, I started planning my December posting schedule and more importantly, I booked a few trips leading up to the holidays. Blogmas is starting to come together and I’m so excited to be sharing some of my upcoming plans with you.
● On the 21st of November, I will be flying from Oslo to Helsinki to explore Finland’s capital and largest city. Sadly the Christmas markets in Helsinki don’t open until December and I won’t have time to visit the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi but don’t worry, there will be plenty of Christmas to come.
● On the 29th of November, I will be taking the train from Oslo to Gothenburg to kick off the holiday season with city sightseeing and Christmas at Liseberg. Gothenburg is Sweden’s second largest city after Stockholm and is home to Liseberg, Scandinavia’s largest amusement park which becomes a magical Christmas market around the holidays.
● On the 7th of December, I will be taking the train from Bærum to Røros for the opening of the town’s Christmas market. Røros was an important mining town in Norway back in the day and has retained much of its character and traditional feel, earning a spot on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980.
● On the 8th of December, I will be flying to Vienna to visit my oldest brother Alexander. Vienna is the capital of Austria and is well known for its Christmas markets dating back to the Middle Ages, making the city a perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.
● On the 15th of December, my mom and I will be flying to Trondheim to visit my grandmother. Trondheim is Norway’s third largest city and while it’s not a place people first think of for Christmas, the city does put up an annual market with handmade crafts and local foods.
With less than a month until the start of blogmas and back-to-back trips throughout December, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little stressed. Over the next few weeks, Cody and I will be between our cabin in Eggedal and our house in Bærum, working on blogmas-related activities. I am looking forward to my upcoming adventures and I hope you’re excited to read the posts that will follow!
